Some new Art Work I have been working on ready for Valentines Day. These are made from salvaged wood, which has been glued together and cut to shape. Then the word "Forever" has been hand painted with a drop shadow.
They are about 30cm x 30cm, I hope to have them for sale soon...
Time for Tea!
I have just completed this new wall clock made using repurposed vintage wooden tea crates.
The design of the clock is based on the original plans for a traditional full case wall clock, I have simplified the design to suit the salvaged materials used.
The numerals on the clock face have been hand painted, using a stencil font to tie in with the original tea crate lettering.
Several different tea crates have been used, the main one on the front says "Tunga Dust".
Tunga tea is grown in Southern India, and dust is the grade of tea, which comes in many forms, dust is normally used in tea bags.
I love using these old tea chests they are full of character each one tells a story and has had a long life and is very well-travelled.
This is currently for sale in my Etsy shop
Time to put my feet up and have a cuppa!
Let me start by wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
Thought I would share some pictures of this driftwood hare art work I recently made.
This was a Christmas gift for some good friends who belong to a local running club, which has a hare as the logo.
We have walked the length of the Norfolk coast together from Terrington Marshes on the Lincolnshire border in West Norfolk all the way round to Goreleston in the East on the Suffolk border (not in one go, but this is something I might do one day).
I really enjoy making driftwood animal sculptures, it takes quite a while to select the right piece of wood to fit, and some have to be carved to shape. Mr hare is about 50cm long. Each piece of driftwood is drilled and nailed in place, glue is also used for some of the smaller pieces of wood.
I am really happy with how this turned out (my friends liked it too). Think I will be making some more driftwood animal sculptures soon...
